Course: Winter Mountaineering – Glacier Travel Considerations
Course description: This online course, offered by The Mountaineers, is designed to help students make decisions to mitigate risk while traveling on glaciers.
Modality: Hybrid; students complete online coursework that corresponds to in-person field trips taught by experienced Mountaineers climbing leaders.
My role on the project: As the online content developer, I led design work on course curriculum and developed content, learning activities, and media assets.
Impact: The Mountaineers is a nonprofit outdoor community of 16,000 active members in the Pacific Northwest. As part of the Mountaineers’ intermediate alpine climbing curriculum, this course equips students with the skills they need to recreate safely in alpine terrain.
